Implementation

• Through a variety of creative and practical activities, we teach the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to engage in the process of designing and making.
• Using a clear learning pathway, children are able to show a clear process of exploring a real life problem where they will explore existing products and evaluate their effectiveness and create a design brief exploring the product, purpose and user. Children will be given time to master the practical skills they need to be successful throughout the pathway focusing on skills and health and safety before they explore a career within the area of Design and Technology being taught and design their product that meets the design brief, evaluating their own designs throughout to continually improve their products. Finally, children will create their final product from their design and evaluate its effectiveness at meeting the design brief.
