Art in Summer 2 so far...
It's been a busy time for Art across the school.
This half term, Year 1 will be learning about sculpture through 'playful making.' We will be exploring the work of sculptors before making our own sculptures. We will also explore properties of materials and what happens when you join one or more materials together to construct new forms.
Year Three have started a new pathway of telling stories through Art. We have started looking at inspirational artists Quentin Blake and Inbal Leitner and created a double page spread that included key facts, images and our own sketches! On our journey we are going to use these artists to inspire our artwork, we are going to use modelling clay to create our own creatures!
Last half term, Year Two explored nature and how to use natural resources such as leaves to create patterns and draw. Throughout the unit, we practiced different drawing techniques to draw different things from nature thinking about their shape, lines and shadows.
Year 6 have been learning about art in Activism and how print has been used in demonstrations and campaigns throughout history.
