How does Boundary Primary School know if your child needs extra help?

At Boundary Primary School we use a range of strategies to help us identify any child who may need extra support.

  • There are regular meetings each half term with the head teacher, deputy head teacher, class teacher, SENCo, to review the progress of every child
  • If required, additional support is allocated and then reviewed at the next meeting
  • Target Tracker is updated half termly and Pupil Plans are updated termly
  • Education Health Care Plan advice from external agencies are followed
  • Allocation of Pupil Premium for children who may have a SEND
  • Link to various policies (SEN, Disability and Accessibility, Equal Opportunities, Inclusion, Assessment, etc)
  • SEN budget

The school budget, received from Blackpool Local Authority, includes money for supporting children with SEND. The head teacher decides on the budget for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in consultation with the school governors, on the basis of needs in the school. The Head Teacher will use all of the information she has about SEND in the school, including:

  • the children getting extra support already
  • the children needing extra support
  • the children who have been identified as not making as much progress as would be expected She will then decide along with the SENCo what resources, training and support is

All resources, training and support are reviewed regularly and changes made as necessary.
