How to be a good friend

Date: 22nd Jun 2021 @ 1:52pm

This week Reception have been learning about the importance of being a good friend.  We talked about different emotions and gave examples of when we felt like that.

"I was scared on my first day of school because I didn't know anyone" Leo

"I'm happy when I'm with mummy" Ellie-Mae

"I get worried when I can't do my work" Caden

We hid our faces behind out hands and revealed each different emotion.

Then we listened to the story of Percy the Pig on his first day at school.  He felt scared and lonely and we talked about what we could do to make Percy feel better.

"Ask him to come and play" Emily

"Show him around so he doesn't get lost" Leyton

"Tell him a joke to make him laugh" Ella-Rose

We shared some different images and talked about what was happening in each pictures ansd discussed ways in which we could be a good friend.  We role played these scernios and then corrected them by demonstrating all the qualities of a good friend.
