Reception and the ducks

Over the past few weeks Recption have enjoyed looking after and caring for our classroom ducklings; Sonny, Donal, Sophia and Mr Duck.  From the moment our duck eggs arrived the children enjoyed observing them in the incubator eagerly awaiting them hatching.

Once the ducklings hatched the children have been busy learning about the ducks lifecycle, what they eat and how to care for them.  They learnt lots of new vocabary and practiced building different sentences using the new words.  The children also enjoys painting and collaging the ducks, writing sentences about them  and researching different facts about ducks.The children thoroughly enjoyed holding the ducklings, making sure they had enough food and water and even cleaned out the cage.  Have a look at our fantastic learning!
