Reception explore Easter

Date: 7th Apr 2025 @ 6:26pm

This week the children in Reception have been exploring why Easter is a special celebration in the Christian calendar.  We started the week of attending a special Easter assembly led by our Year Six children.  Back in the classroom we explored a range of new words using our vocabulary and explored the key events which took place in 'Holy Week'  We even had a special visit from Reverend Matt who explained why Easter is importanct to Christains and how is celebrated throughout the year through holy communion.  To support our learning during continuous provision we were set several challenges including sequencing the event of Holy week, making our own representation of the crucifixtion and completing a tresure hunt in the outside area looking for special symbols accosiated with Easter including; the cross and eggs.
