Reception Road Safety

This week we have neem learning about the importance of keeping ourselves safe when we are crossing the road.  We started the week off with a whole school assembly where we explored hw=ow to keep ourselves safe when walking near or crossing a road, riding on a boke or scooter and whilst travelling in a moving vehicle.

As part of our learning we were visited by Zoe our school crossing patrol who yalked to the children about her job and explored in move depth how we cross the road safely.

"Walk sensibly and hold mummys hand" Ava

"Listen for vehicles" Noah

They found out why Zoe wear a hi-vis jacket and that she only stops for emergency vehicles.

Following this the children participated in oracy lessons which explored the importance of "stop. look. listen". dofferemnt dafe places to cross and the importanceof wearing a helment when riding on a bike.

The children drew their own road safety pictures and even put pur learning intp action by role playing in the outside area,
