Year 1- Meet the Teacher

Welcome back! We hope you had a wonderful summer!

Here is some information which was shared during the Meet the Teacher session this week. 

• Overview for the year has been attached.
• Read at least 3 times a week with your child, this will help them grow in confidence as well as supporting them accessing all areas of the curriculum.
• Homework is set on Seesaw every Friday and needs to be completed by the following Thursday (Find login details in your child's reading diary).
• In Summer, your child will undertake the statutory Phonics Screening Check. It is helpful to read regularly with your child to help them with their fluency of phonics knowledge. Further meetings will be scheduled to help you best support your child for the screening. 
• Whilst Year 1 does look different to Reception, all children still have access to continuous provision to learn through play following on from the EYFS framework.
• Complete BLT tasks (please find attached) and bring them in once completed so we can share them with the class and display them proudly outside Miss Moyes office. 
• Practice this half terms KIRFS with your child working on their instant recall of key mathematical facts (please find attached).
