Year 3 - Forest School

Date: 24th Apr 2025 @ 12:56pm

What a fabulous day we had at Forest School today! Our Year 3 pupils were buzzing with excitement as they discovered some amazing things in nature. Did you know that you can actually eat every part of a dandelion? From the leaves in salads to the flowers in tea, these cheerful yellow flowers are more than just a weed!

The children began their adventure by exploring the forest school area. They got really creative and built dens using sticks and leaves—what a brilliant team effort! Over at the mud kitchen, they set up a quirky little café, selling ice cream and whipping up delicious pizza. Yum!

The pupils also took care of our plants, watering flowers and fruit bushes, helping them grow big and strong. They even added extra water to our pond, so it would flow into the second pond. Along the way, we spotted tiny tadpoles swimming about and even a couple of cheeky small frogs!

Finally, the children got their hands dirty digging in the ditch. Guess what they found? Shapes that looked just like dinosaur footprints! How exciting is that? We can't wait for our next forest adventure!
