Year 4 - Good Versus Evil

Year 4 started their Hinduism topic by looking at a variety of examples of films where the theme was ‘good overcoming evil’. The children then suggested their own film or story ideas where there was a protagonist and antagonist showing goodness in the world or good overcoming evil.

Children then worked in groups to discuss whether goodness always overcomes evil in the real world. The children had different views. Many children discussed crimes and littering however some children discussed the ‘goodness’ that overcomes the challenges. Children stated that many volunteers, help the homeless, give money to charity, help animals and donate to food banks. 

In groups, children looked at inspirational figures who have shown sources of light and hope for others such as Thomas Edison and Albert Einstein.
