Year 5 - Fitness Fanatics

Our fitness unit continues as we look at increasing our heart rate through gentle exercise, increasing this so we use more energy. This week we also introduced the skill of evading in small group games involving attack and defence positions. We thought tactically about how we would move in order to slow down an attacker and how sometimes this involves larger movements of our bodies all the while the attacker had to think about how they moved, introducing 'false moves' to put off the defenders and break through the defense.
