Year 5 - Mountain Modelling

Date: 18th Sep 2025 @ 7:50am

During our latest Geography lesson on mountains, the classroom turned into a mini mountain range! After learning about the key features of mountains – from peaks and ridges to valleys and slopes – some of our pupils decided to get creative. Using modelling clay, they built their very own mountains, carefully shaping and labelling the different features we’d discussed.

It was fantastic to see them using their new knowledge in such a hands-on way. The clay mountains sparked lots of discussion about real-life landscapes and helped everyone visualise how mountains form. A brilliant mix of creativity and geography in action!
