Children will be provided with the opportunity to develop their skills and understanding of the four strands through a mixture of child initiated and adult focussed activities.
Key Stage 1 and 2
- Follow the Lancashire Agreed Syllabus through an enquiry based approach.
- All lessons build on knowledge, skills and understanding from previous lessons and prior learning in earlier year groups.
- Teachers choose the most accurate representations possible and express the diversity and variety of religion.
- Misconceptions are addressed in the moment and stereotypes challenged.
- Clear links are made across different religions and connections between content taught.
- Teachers deliver lessons that build on substantive knowledge, disciplinary knowledge and personal knowledge.
- Children are given opportunities to foster the 4 main strands of teaching through the syllabus: Shared Human Experience, Living Religious Traditions, Beliefs and Values and Search for Personal Meaning.
- Offering trips and visiting experts that will enhance the learning experience.
