Amazing Phonics!

This week, Year 1 have continued their phonics journey by consolidating their learning of the new Phase 5 sounds. The children have been applying these sounds with growing confidence in both their reading and writing.

They have also been completing independent phonics activities within the continuous provision areas, helping to reinforce their learning in a fun and engaging way. During reading sessions, the children have been practising decoding words containing their new graphemes and developing their fluency to become more confident readers.

We are incredibly proud of the effort the children are putting into their phonics lessons. Their hard work and determination are beginning to show, and it is wonderful to see the progress they are making in their reading every day. Well done, Year 1! 🎉
