Nursery Make Bear Puppets
Date: 1st Oct 2026 @ 4:53pm
Our nursery children have been enjoying the much-loved story We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen. To help bring the story to life and support their storytelling skills, the children made their very own bear puppets using paper bags.
The children carefully decorated their bears, adding ears, eyes and noses before turning them into puppets. They were excited to use their creations to retell the story, acting out the different parts of the adventure and joining in with the familiar repeated phrases.
Using puppets encourages children to develop their language and communication skills, build confidence in speaking, and strengthen their understanding of stories. The children had lots of fun taking their bears on a hunt through swishy grass, splashing rivers and squelchy mud before finally finding the bear!
We are so proud of their creativity and enthusiasm, and it has been wonderful to see them bringing the story to life through imaginative play. 🐻📚✨
