Reception- Harvest
Date: 16th Oct 2026 @ 11:04am
The whole school celebrated Harvest with a special assembly led by Year 6 and Reverend Peter. We talked about the importance of being thankful for fresh food and clean water and recognised that not all children around the world have access to these every day. We also discussed how we can avoid wasting food and water and appreciate what we have.
During the assembly, we enjoyed singing a variety of Harvest songs together.
Afterwards, in our classrooms, the children decorated a Harvest wreath by adding pictures of fruit and vegetables. This creative activity helped us reflect on the abundance of food we are fortunate to have.
Throughout the week, children and their families donated food items to support Vincent House, a local charity. These donations will help people in our community who may be experiencing hardship.
Our Harvest celebrations encouraged pupils to think about gratitude, kindness, and helping others.
