This week, Reception had great fun exploring the delightful story Rosie’s Walk by Pat Hutchins. The children thoroughly enjoyed following Rosie the hen on her journey around the farm and were inspired to recreate her adventure by building their own obstacle course outdoors. As they navigated the course, they used positional language from the story, including around, over, across, past, through and under, helping to develop their vocabulary and understanding of space and movement. The children showed excellent teamwork, imagination and enthusiasm as they brought Rosie’s journey to life through active learning and play.
