🌞✨ Year 1 Summer 2 Update ✨🌞 

We’ve been super busy in Year 1 and having lots of fun while learning! 📚😊 

📖 Reading into Writing 
We’ve been inspired by The Snail and the Whale 🐌🐋. The children have sequenced and retold the story, described the characters, and even created their own speech bubbles—some fantastic storytelling! ✏️💬 

➗ Maths 
We’ve been exploring fractions, learning to recognise and find halves and quarters of shapes, objects, and quantities 🍕🔢. Great work from everyone! 👏 

🌱 Science 
Our topic is plants! We enjoyed a nature walk around the school grounds 🌼🌿 and planted our very own sunflower seeds 🌻. We’re excited to see how they grow and learn what seeds need to survive. 

⛪ RE 
In RE, we’ve started learning about Christianity and the church. We began by thinking about our own families 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 and how they help and support us ❤️. 

🎨 PSHE 
We have continued building our skills for life by exploring creativity and innovation—turning simple shapes into imaginative creations using our brilliant ideas! 🔷✨
