Year 2 - School council voting

This week, Year Two took part in Democracy Week and had a fantastic time learning all about democracy and voting. 

In assembly, we learned what democracy means and how voting helps people make important decisions. We then wrote our own manifestos, explaining why we would make a great School Council representative and sharing our ideas for improving our school. 📝💡

We were so impressed by the children's confidence as they stood in front of their classmates and explained why they should be voted for. 🎤⭐ They showed courage, creativity and enthusiasm while presenting their ideas.

To make the experience even more realistic, the children visited our voting booths and used ballot papers to cast their votes. 🗳️✅ Everyone enjoyed taking part in the election process and getting a real taste of how democracy works.

We are incredibly proud of all the children who put themselves forward as candidates. 👏🌟 Congratulations to our newly elected School Council representatives: Sam from Birch Class and Tommy from Elm Class

We know they will do a fantastic job representing their classmates and helping to make our school an even better place! 🏫❤️
