Year 3 - Art

Date: 8th Sep 2025 @ 9:23pm

In our art unit, we're learning how to use charcoal—a fun, messy material that’s great for bold, expressive drawings. Artist Laura McKendry is a brilliant example of how charcoal can bring pictures to life. She often draws animals in a loose, sketchy style that shows movement and feeling. Instead of focusing on tiny details, she uses quick lines, smudges, and splashes to create energy in her work. Looking at her art helps us see that drawing doesn’t have to be perfect—it can be playful and full of expression. Get ready to experiment and make bold marks!
