Year 3 - Dancing With Charcoal

Date: 18th Sep 2025 @ 9:30am

In this week’s art lesson, we explored the exciting world of performance art through the work of Heather Hansen. She creates stunning pieces using charcoal in each hand, moving gracefully across large sheets of paper on the floor. Inspired by her, we had a go at creating our own movement-based artwork. Using charcoal, we danced, stretched, and moved to make expressive marks, turning our movements into art. It was a unique and creative experience—and yes, we got a little messy, but that made it even more fun! We loved combining art with movement in such a playful way.
