Year 3 Explore Pentecost and the Holy Spirit
Date: 21st May 2026 @ 5:43pm
This half term in RE, Year 3 have been learning all about Pentecost and the importance of the Holy Spirit in Christianity.
In today’s lesson, the children had the opportunity to express their understanding creatively by designing their own Pentecost banners. Before starting, they explored a range of existing designs, carefully discussing the symbols commonly used to represent the Holy Spirit, such as flames, doves and wind.
Inspired by these ideas, the children then created their own unique banner designs. They thought carefully about the symbols they included and what these represent, showing a growing understanding of the meaning behind Pentecost. It was wonderful to see the children explaining their choices and sharing their ideas with confidence.
We were incredibly impressed with their creativity and thoughtfulness throughout the lesson.
Take a look at some of these amazing designs!
