Year 3 - Science

This week, Year 3 began our Science unit Animals Including Humans by exploring the importance of a balanced diet. We learned about the five main food groups—fruits and vegetables, carbohydrates, proteins, dairy, and fats/sugars—and discussed how each one helps our bodies stay healthy. The children enjoyed sorting foods into the correct groups and sharing their own meal ideas. We talked about why eating a variety of foods is important and what makes a healthy plate. It was a fantastic start to our topic, full of curiosity, discussion, and great thinking about how we fuel our bodies.
