Class School Council Elections

This week, our class took part in an exciting School Council election, giving us the opportunity to experience democracy in action. At Boundary Primary School, democracy is one of the key British Values that we promote, helping children understand the importance of having a voice and making fair decisions together.

Pupils who wished to become our School Council representative confidently put themselves forward as candidates. They prepared and shared their manifestos with the class, explaining why they would be a good representative and how they could help improve school life for everyone. Each candidate spoke clearly about their ideas, listened respectfully to questions, and demonstrated great confidence and responsibility.

The class listened carefully to every manifesto, showing respect for different opinions and recognising that everyone had the right to share their views. After hearing from all of the candidates, pupils took part in a vote. This allowed everyone to have an equal say in choosing their representative, just as citizens do in democratic elections.

We were incredibly proud of all the candidates for their courage and enthusiasm. The election helped us develop our understanding of democracy, respect and responsibility, while reminding us that every vote counts and every voice matters.
