Year 4 - Glorious Gases

Today we completed experiements to prove that like all substances, gases have mass. We weighed an empty balloon and then weighed it after it was inflated. Although the balloon floated more slowly, it actually had more mass! We also discovered that mixing an acid with an alkaline substance created a gas called carbon dioxide - which we used to extinguish a flame.
