👮‍♂️💻 Pol-Ed Visit: Staying Safe Online and Using AI Responsibly 💻👮‍♀️

This week, Year 6 welcomed visitors from the police who delivered an engaging Pol-Ed session about artificial intelligence (AI) and the importance of staying safe online. 🌐📱

During the session, we learned about how AI is becoming an increasingly important part of everyday life and explored some of the ways it can be used to help people. 🤖✨ We also discussed the importance of using AI responsibly and thinking critically about the information we see online.

The officers spoke to us about the dangers of harmful online content 🚫 and explained what children should do if they come across anything that makes them feel uncomfortable, worried or unsafe. We learned about the importance of speaking to a trusted adult 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦, reporting inappropriate content, and thinking carefully before sharing information online.

Year 6 took part in thoughtful discussions about online safety 🔒, digital footprints 👣, and how our actions online can have real-world consequences. The children asked some excellent questions and demonstrated a mature understanding of the challenges and opportunities that technology can bring.

The session reminded us that the internet can be an amazing tool for learning and communication 🌍📚, but it is important to use it safely, responsibly and respectfully. We would like to thank the police officers for taking the time to visit us and share such valuable advice.
