🗳️ School Council Elections 2026 🗳️

This week, excitement filled the classrooms as Year 6 took part in our School Council elections! 🌟

Children who wished to become School Council representatives put themselves forward and prepared speeches explaining why they would be a great choice for the role. 🎤😊 Each candidate spoke confidently in front of their peers, sharing their ideas for improving our school and explaining how they would represent the views of their classmates.

The candidates demonstrated courage, confidence and excellent communication skills as they delivered their speeches. 👏✨ It was wonderful to hear so many thoughtful suggestions and see children willing to take on responsibility for making our school an even better place.

Once all speeches had been delivered, each class took part in a democratic vote. ✅🗳️ The children carefully considered the candidates before casting their votes, learning first-hand about the importance of democracy and having a voice in decisions that affect their school community.

This process helped the children to understand how elections work and why it is important that everyone has the opportunity to express their opinions respectfully. 🤝🌍 The voting was conducted fairly, and the children showed great maturity throughout the entire process.

We would like to congratulate all of the candidates who put themselves forward. 🌟 Regardless of the outcome, every child showed bravery by standing in front of their classmates and sharing their ideas. We are incredibly proud of everyone who participated and look forward to seeing our newly elected School Council representatives begin their important work this year! 🎉🏫💙
