⚽🌟 Year 2 Celebrate Sports Week in Style! 🌟⚽
Date: 26th Jun 2026 @ 9:17am
What an exciting day Year 2 have had as we came to school wearing our favourite football clothing to celebrate the end of our fantastic Sports Week! 👕⚽🥅
After surviving the sunny weather ☀️🌡️, the children proudly wore football shirts, kits, and team colours as we also celebrated the excitement of the World Cup 🌍🏆.
As well as having lots of fun, we are using this special occasion to raise money for OPAL and support the continued development of our playtimes. 🎉💙 The children have enjoyed learning how OPAL helps create exciting opportunities for active, imaginative, and inclusive play for everyone.
Throughout the day, Year 2 have been exploring the lives and achievements of some of the world's most famous footballers, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi ⭐⚽. We discussed their journeys, successes, determination, and the importance of perseverance when working towards a goal.
The children also put their creativity to work by becoming football kit designers! 🎨👕 Using their imagination, they designed their own unique football kits, carefully choosing colours, patterns, badges, and logos to create eye-catching team uniforms.
It has been a wonderful day filled with learning, creativity, teamwork, and sporting enthusiasm. We are so proud of the children for embracing the spirit of Sports Week and helping to raise money for such an important cause. 🌟🏆⚽

This week children in year 5 have returned to the forest area. As they work towards their Forest School certificate, pupils used char-cloth to make a fire and made staues from clay. Pupils also helped to re-develop the pond area and found some tadpoles swimming around.
