During our meet the teacher session this week, we shared information about the Year 6 SATs.
Please find further information below:
Dear Parents/ Carers,
I’m writing to share some key information about the Year 6 SATs (Statutory Attainment Tests) for 2026.
SATs Dates for 2026
- The Year 6 SATs will take place from Monday, 11th May to Thursday, 14th May 2026.
- These tests are a statutory part of your child’s education in England, assessing progress in reading, maths, and grammar, punctuation and spelling.
How You Can Support Your Child Now
- Continue to support learning at home: Encourage your child to read regularly, practise maths, and complete their homework.
- Attendance is crucial: Please do not book any holidays (holidays are NOT authorised during school time) or appointments during the SATs week (11–14 May 2026). Full attendance ensures your child can take all the tests.
- Healthy routines: Make sure your child gets plenty of rest and eats a healthy breakfast each day so they are able to focus in school.
Next Steps
- If you have any questions or concerns in the meantime, please contact your child’s class teacher
- We will be holding a meeting later in the school year for all Year 6 parents and carers.
Thank you for your continued support in helping your child prepare for this important stage in their learning.
Kind regards,
Mrs NC Bunday
Deputy Headteacher

Inspired by the book 'The Dot' by Peter Reynolds and the work of abstract artist Wassily Kandinsky (1866 - 1944), pupils have created their own artwork using a single colour to create a self-portrait within a dot. This required a variety of skills including sketching, colour mixing and painting. Pupils were asked to consider colour, tone and hue when completing their final piece. Soon, the artwork will be combined with work from other year groups and displayed around the school.

Today Year 6 took part in a pre-SATs Kooth workshop online. The aim of the event was to talk to children about how they felt going into the SATs and what strategies they could use to help them with any worries or anxities they were having about the tests. The children were also introduced to the Kooth website, which is a support platform for young people. Kooth is the UK's largest and longest established digital mental health service that partners with NHS and local authority organisations to deliver mental health support to young children. If children would like to create their own account then we encourage parents/carers to sit with their children and look through the website.
