Year 2 Update...

🌟 A Fantastic Start to Year 2! 🌟 

What a brilliant start to the year we have had in Year 2! The children have settled back into school wonderfully and have already impressed us with their enthusiasm, hard work and positive attitudes towards their learning. 💛 

📚 Reading into Writing 
We have loved exploring The Gruffalo! The children used the story as inspiration to design their very own monsters before using exciting and imaginative vocabulary to describe their creations. We certainly had some weird and wonderful monsters appearing in our classroom! 👹✏️ 

🔢 Maths 
In Maths, we have been busy developing our understanding of place value. The children have been exploring numbers in different ways and building their confidence when working with tens and ones. 

✍️ Handwriting 
We have also been working incredibly hard on our handwriting, taking care with our letter formation, size and presentation. We are already seeing some fantastic improvements. 🌟 

🧵 Design & Technology 
In DT, we have been exploring the wonderful world of puppets! After investigating different types of puppets and how they work, the children have been busy designing their own, thinking carefully about what their finished puppet will look like. 

🏃 PE 
During our PE lessons, we have been developing our fundamental movement skills, building our confidence, coordination and control through lots of active learning. 

🧪 Science 
We have certainly enjoyed getting hands-on in Science! Our young scientists have carried out lots of experiments investigating different materials, making observations, asking questions and discussing what they discovered. 🔎🥼 

We are incredibly proud of how well everyone has settled into Year 2 and how much fantastic learning has already taken place. What a super start to the year!
