We were thrilled to welcome local poet and author Nathan Parker to our school, where he shared his inspiring journey into writing with the children. Hailing from Blackpool, Nathan spoke passionately about how his love for poetry began at a young age, sparked by his surroundings and a desire to tell stories. He captivated the students with tales of how Blackpool, with its vibrant culture and seaside atmosphere, influences much of his work. Nathan didn’t just talk about poetry—he worked closely with the children to create their own poem, encouraging them to use their imaginations and express their unique voices. The students loved the hands-on experience, and their faces lit up as their ideas came together into something truly special. Nathan’s visit was a wonderful reminder of the power of creativity, and he left the children with the message to keep writing and never stop dreaming—no matter where their own creative journeys take them.
Year 3- Year 3 Sikhism Online Visitor!
Date: 6th May 2025 @ 1:27pm
Today, we had an online session with a Sikh because in RE we are learning about Sikhism focusing on why are the Gurus important to Sikhs? Our online visitor showed us around the Gurdwara and taught us about his faith and explained why he commits himself to his faith. The tour around the Gurdwara allowed us to see and learn about what happens there and the importance of each room. This allowed us to learn about the importance of music within the religion, but also how it is a safe place for people and is used for events. He informed and showed us how the Guru Granth Sahib is treated and explained the importance of treating it with respect. We were able to ask him questions to link our understanding and learn more about Sikhism as he shared his experiences with us.
Nursery and the Beautiful Garden
Date: 5th May 2025 @ 4:20pm
The Nursery garden was beginning to look a bit sorry for itself and it was time to give it a make-over! After a lot of preparation, digging out beds, removing weeds and moving countless wheel barrows of garden rubble, it was time to plant some beautiful plants, flowers, grasses and herbs. The children played a big part in creating the garden and helped to dig out the old soil and plant the new flowers. The garden now looks beautful and we are excited to help look after it and watch the plants grow, Extra special thanks goes to Mrs McAllister. Without her expert knowldge and hard work, this wouldn't have been possible. Also a big thanks to Mr Galloway and Mr Harding who had the hard task of digging up the beds! And finally, thank you to the all the nursery staff and children for all their help.

What a fabulous day we had at Forest School today! Our Year 3 pupils were buzzing with excitement as they discovered some amazing things in nature. Did you know that you can actually eat every part of a dandelion? From the leaves in salads to the flowers in tea, these cheerful yellow flowers are more than just a weed!
The children began their adventure by exploring the forest school area. They got really creative and built dens using sticks and leaves—what a brilliant team effort! Over at the mud kitchen, they set up a quirky little café, selling ice cream and whipping up delicious pizza. Yum!
The pupils also took care of our plants, watering flowers and fruit bushes, helping them grow big and strong. They even added extra water to our pond, so it would flow into the second pond. Along the way, we spotted tiny tadpoles swimming about and even a couple of cheeky small frogs!
Finally, the children got their hands dirty digging in the ditch. Guess what they found? Shapes that looked just like dinosaur footprints! How exciting is that? We can't wait for our next forest adventure!
